Brian Geremia:
Brian graduated from Loyola
Marymount University in 2006 with a
degree in English Literature and a
minor in Secondary Education. At
LMU, Brian founded an influential
student service organization called
Magis, a word that literally means
"more" and encourages people to ask
themselves, "How can I be more, do
more, and give more?" Through Magis,
Brian served as a big brother
through Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Los Angeles, volunteered as the
Varsity Baseball coach for Verbum
Dei High School, an inner-city
school operating under to Cristo Rey
corporate work-study model, and
facilitated other members' service
involvement.
For his work with Magis, Brian was
awarded LMU's Ignatian award, the
highest honor given at graduation to
the student who most exemplifies
commitment to social justice,
academic excellence, and leadership.
Brian received many other awards at
LMU, including the Sister Raymunde
Mckay and Fr. Alfred Kilp awards for
Service & Leadership, and was
inducted into the Jesuit Honors
Society in 2006. Since graduation,
Brian has worked as the Director of
Alumni Relations at Jesuit High
School and taught middle-school at
Mustard Seed, an emergency school
for homeless children at Loaves &
Fishes in Sacramento.
Brent Pottenger:
Brent is a continual scholar athlete who is
passionate about working with kids in
sports, academics, and community service. He
has tutored students in all subjects,
ranging from physics and chemistry to
English and algebra, with much success.
Brent graduated
from Jesuit High School in 2002, earning the
Ignatian award, Jesuit's highest honor, at
graduation. For his undergraduate education,
he attended the University of California,
Davis, earning Summa Cum Laude honors and 29
A+ grades with a 3.98/4.0 GPA as a Bachelor
of Science degree major in Physiology and
Financial Management for Health Care. He
also completed a certificate in Contemporary
Leadership and received the Mary Regan Meyer
Prize at graduation for his "commitment to
serving others and bettering humanity."
Currently, Brent is finishing his Master of
Health Administration (MHA) graduate degree
at the University of Southern California as
a School of Policy, Planning, and
Development Dean's Merit Scholar. Brent's
MHA thesis, "Regionalization of Care for
ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction -
Is it Too Soon?" was published in Annals of
Emergency Medicine, the largest and most
prestigious academic emergency medicine
journal. Brent has volunteered over 800
hours as a Clinical Research Associate in
the UC Davis Medical Center's Emergency
Department, working with exemplary
physicians along the way.
Recently,
Brent co-authored a book, Ancestral Fitness,
with world-renowned experts on nutrition,
diet, exercise, lifestyle, health, and
sports performance.
David Campos
David is a Stanford graduate and an
energetic educational specialist and
mentor who enjoys working with students
of all ages and abilities. He has
tutored students for the past 7+ years
in Spanish, English, and various levels
of math. He graduated from Jesuit High
School in 2002, receiving the Pedro
Arrupe award at graduation for his
outstanding community service. David
graduated from Stanford University in
2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Psychology, making the honor roll every
quarter.
While at Stanford, David received a
research grant to conduct social
psychology studies in the Graduate
School of Business
and was awarded the Charles Warren
Kendrick Scholarship in Psychology for
two years. He is currently pursuing a
Master of Science degree in Counseling
at California State University,
Sacramento. He has recently been awarded
the Vind-Peters-Canessa Scholarship in
Counselor Education for his great
academic performance and his dedicated
efforts to helping students excel in
their educational endeavors.
